Escambia County is the westernmost and the oldest county in Florida. As of the United States Census, the population is 315,534. Its county seat and largest city is Pensacola. Escambia County is included in the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county population has continued to increase as the suburbs of Pensacola have developed.
